Artist - Educator - Therapist

I am a seeker and curator of sensory experiences. Fascinated by the past and all things archaeological and elemental.

As a child I spent much of my time digging holes in the garden, playing in the earth with toy animals and looking for fairies. I was brought up by extraordinary parents who nurtured my curiosity and instilled in me a great reverence for nature.

Later on, I trained as an Archaeological Illustrator and became, Exhibitions Organiser for the Crickley Hill Archaeological Trust. Since then, I have spent many years working on archaeological excavations throughout Gloucestershire.

My art is made in response to prehistoric monuments, ghost landscapes, magic and folklore. My practise is immersive, often spontaneous and experimental. I like to create with natural materials found on site. I follow my intuition, allowing my subjective feelings to guide me.

I am influenced by my archaeological knowledge, but allow myself the freedom to overlay it with my experiences of the uncanny or sudden moments of enchantment. I strive to capture fleeting perceptions of the past in the present. Archaeology, local distinctiveness and spirit of place are at the core of my artistic exploration.

I am an art tutor and holistic therapist. I use my art as a bridge to engage with people and to promote health and wellbeing. I am passionate about creating an artistic approach to archaeology and heritage that I wish to make accessible to all.
